Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM5 comes with the 12mm-35mm lens

Panasonic introduces the second member of its diminutive GM-series: the Lumix DMC-GM5.

Every detail of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM5 body gives it a look of elegance and style. And helps create an imaging experience unlike any other DSLM camera in its class. In the sleek, stylish body design adopting a magnesium alloy, DMC-GM5 (GM5) now integrates a 1,166K-dot equivalent LVF (Live View Finder) with approx.0.92x / 0.46x (35mm camera equiv.) magnification and 100% field of view.

With the LVF designed into the GM5, capturing superior images is assured with 1,166k-dot equivalent resolution and approximately 100 percent color reproduction. By more faithfully reproducing the primary colors, the GM5 LVF clearly displays beautiful, more true-to-life hues.

The Lumix DMC-GM5 allows photographers to use a max. shutter speed of 1/16,000 for action photography. The GM5 is also compatible with Focus Peaking, Silent Mode, Highlight/Shadow Control and Level Gauge.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM5 features a new video recording option called “Snap Movie Mode”. Users can record video for short period of time (2/4/6/8 sec) as they shoot “moving photos”. It is also easy to share them using Panasonic Image App and It is also possible to connect them later even with a variety of interval fade effects and music. The GM5 also incorporates the popular Creative Control mode with a total of 22 fascinating filter effects in addition to Time Lapse Shot, Stop Motion Animation or Clear Retouch. For more manual photography, Time (long exposure) function is newly added that lets photographers to set exposure time max. 60 sec.

The Venus Engine in the GM5 features an advanced noise reduction system to consistently produce clearer, smoother image quality — particularly when capturing subjects and scenery at night. This intelligent combination of Live MOS Sensor and Venus Engine achieves maximum ISO25600.

The DMC-GM5 includes WiFi connectivity for easy image sharing with the Panasonic Image App. By simply scanning the QR code displayed on the camera monitor with a smartphone or tablet it's also easy to use a mobile device as a remote controller for the GM5. Plus, a new Time function is ideal for sharing slow-shutter images like fireworks and nightscapes. Sharing while browsing is quicker, too, with direct uploading capability.
